Update: 2 AM (Friday)

Per Cathi on cell phone:
He is still going strong.     They can see the land clearly (silhouette--since dark).    He is about 1 mile away.   She will call  me when he finishes!    Everyone on the boat is very excited.

We are excited with all your posts and fun comments!

Today has been a very nonproductive day. But so worth it to sit and stare at a screen to see a little dot get closer and closer to a HUGE goal. I'm so excited I can't do anything else but refresh screens until he arrives. : ). Go Gord!!!

Tomax lost a lot of money today, but I consider it well spent. Way to go Gordon, we are all really proud of you and thanks for sharing with us!

Gordon - looks like you're about to make landfall. Congratulations on an amazing feat - and well under the time that you hoped for. It's been a pleasure following your swimming successes over the last 3 years - from the Bear Lake width, to the GSL swims, to the Bear Lake length and all the other swims in many other locations. You are an inspiration. Major props to your friend Josh Green who strikes me as an unbelievable friend and swimming partner. Great job to you and all of your support crew. - Chris (New York)

Based on the boat's tracking, I'm guessing that Gords is either done or within 100 meters of finishing. Good job, Gordon. You're a stud!

Sweet. I just made it home in time. I was cruising to get her in time to see the finish post. Alright, Gordon, go ahead and finish.

Been watching your progress all day (even gave you a shout out in class when I got caught peeking at the map on my phone).

Its been very inspirational to both my wife and I to watch you do this, and we aren't even sports watchers. Good job, and you are now a hero at my house.

It was great to watch the GPS move at consistent intervals across the channel. It gave me the impression that you never slowed down, and could have swam the 22 miles back to Dover! Good work!
